What teenagers are entitled to

All students entering Year Nine up until they are 17 years old are eligible to receive free basic dental treatments please call us for an appointment all students are welcome

 

These services include:

  • Examinations
  • Radiographs (if required)
  • Preventative treatment such as fluoride application and fissure sealants
  • Root canal fillings
  • Extractions (but not orthodontic extractions)
  • Oral health education and encouragement to continue good oral health
  • Restorative treatment

When your child turns 18 dental treatment in New Zealand is no longer free.

Who is eligible for the Free Adolescent Service?
From Year Nine until their 18th birthday all children regardless of whether they are working or studying are eligible. Many parents and children are unaware of this free service!

How many free visits is my child eligible for?
Children in New Zealand are entitled to one free check up per calendar year. If there is another problem like a tooth ache during the year, they are able to make another free appointment.
